Yay! New Anastasia Palette!
Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of my top three favorite makeup brands. Whenever she announces a new product I feel like a kid on Christmas as I watch the beautiful pictures start to appear on my Instagram feed. And then as soon as it launches I rush over to Sephora and order it as fast as I can. So of course her new palette, the Master Palette by Mario, was no exception. In true Anastasia fashion the colors are both unique and natural. Overall this is a beautiful addition to my collection and I foresee myself using it often.

What I Love:
The formula of these shadows and the quality of packaging is in line with Anastasia’s previous palettes. All the shades are heavily pigmented and true to color when applied. They have the soft creamy consistency you would expect from a high-end shadow. The range of colors included in this collaboration would be beautiful on a wide variety of skin types and eye colors. You can create multiple looks using just these shadows which makes it good for travel. It’s a killer palette to have for the fall/winter season and I can see myself using it frequently.
What I Don’t Love:
The first thing that turned me off about this palette was the price. Anastasia’s previous palette, Modern Renaissance, was the same price, packaging, and brush but included two more of the same size shadows. So I felt a little ripped off.
Secondly when I started using the shadows I noticed there was A LOT of kick back (see photo above). And kick back=fallout. I use the darker shadows with caution and still sometimes do get fallout; which I hate because I always do my face makeup first. This combination of heavy pigment and fallout can be difficult to work with so I would not recommend this palette for a beginner.
In my same order I also purchases one of Anastasia’s new shades of liquid lipstick. It is in the shade Allison which is a beautiful reddish brown, perfect for fall. It applies beautifully and wears for 2-3 hours and through drinking. The only complaint is that it is VERY similar to the Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Lolita, which I already own. So if you already own Lolita I would not purchase Allison.
